Public Speaking

Pupils learn how to communicate clearly and present ideas. They develop skills in how to structure a presentation, and technical skills in vocal projection and clarity of speech, how to improve their physical presence, integrate body language, notes and visual aids, to support the subject matter and engage the listener.

Reading for Performance

Pupils perform a recital based upon a theme of their choice and consisting of verse and prose readings and links written by themselves. The focus is upon physical and vocal flexibility, engagement with theme and text and developing confident presenters.

Verse and Prose

Designed to develop the skills necessary for effective oral communication of the written word. Pupils engage imaginatively with the thought, emotion, style and form of a text whilst developing skills in voice, diction and posture.
